The Green screen is another tool that can be used to create an interesting background. The green screen can be placed in any location and then footage can be taken. Then you can use the ultra key tool in premier pro to select the colour green. This will cause the screen to show the footage from the layer behind it, and this creates the illusion of there being more to the scene than it seems.
